We encourage all members to attend this Zoom meeting! The night will kick off with a special presentation from the League of Women Voters to explain ballot measures. This ballot is quite lengthly—shortcut your research time by participating in this discussion which ends with a Q&A.
Our committees and task forces have been hard at work exploring some topics that are critical to the wellbeing of our neighborhood. Each committee will present a summary of their work during the October 27th meeting.
Our Bylaws have not been updated since 2006 and there is consensus that they are in need of some updates. Eight members have spent 40+ hours serving on the Bylaw Review Task Force. There are three main topics the this task force is looking at:
1. Our bylaws require the President to have one year of experience on the board. Currently, no board member is both qualified and interested—therefore, we do not have a president.
2. Simplifying voting requirements: We require members to pay (dues) in order to vote—only paid members can vote in board elections and on any other motions that happen during membership meetings.
3. Miscellaneous unclear or out of date items such as the requirement that board elections must be conducted by written ballot.
