Mark your calendar for the beloved 4th of July Celebration in Washington Park at the historic Boathouse pavilion. The event is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a children's bicycle/tricycle/stroller parade; music; ice cream; Station No. 21's fire truck and more! This popular event has been a tradition since 2003 and is a joint effort of West Washington Park and Washington Park East Neighborhood Associations. New and continuing volunteers are warmly welcomed to join in the fun of planning; decorating the boathouse; outlining and monitoring the parade route; transporting table and chairs to and from the park; setting-up and staffing the ice cream tent and cleaning up afterwards.
