Committees Overview

WWPNA has seven standing committees: Zoning, Land Use and Transportation, Historic Preservation, Membership, Communications, Inclusion & Sustainability, and House Tour. In recent years we have also added a Parks committee.

According to bylaws, committee members must be Voting Members (a Voting Member is a paid member) and committee Chairs are elected by committee members. However all committee meetings are open to the public and we encourage you to join these meetings.

Watch our calendar for information on time, location and how to join virtually.

Why attend a committee meeting?

This helps create efficiency and elevates the voices of our membership by providing our members an opportunity to learn about, discuss and then provide comments to the Board who will vote on a position. Committee meetings are a great way to join the conversation if you have a strong interest or expertise in a certain area.

This is where the work happens! Committees serve an important role in our organization because they allow members to discuss the details of various issues. Committees discuss the pros and cons, applicable city laws and specific details on an issue -- and come to the Board with recommendations on a position.

ZONING

If you have an interest in how our community can keep up with Denver’s unprecedented growth, or if you have a background in real estate, policy or development -- please join this committee! This committee often discusses issues like gentrification and equity and we need your voice!

LAND USE & TRANSPORTATION

Our Land use and Transportation Committee discusses the way public land is used in our community. Public land is the right of way of our streets. This committee is for you if you care about walkable communities, equitable access, safe streets and the environment.

COMMUNICATIONS

The Communications Committee works on outreach and education. They meet monthly and are currently working on putting together a schedule of events for the neighborhood. Some are celebrations, some are contests but all fall into these four categories: education, community building, civic engagement and fundraising/membership.

If you love to be social, or if you have an interest in helping the WWPNA be inclusive, please join this committee!

HISTORIC PRESERVATION

This committee is not currently active.

The Membership Committee assists the Membership Chair with duties related to membership management and communication. This includes working on membership drive campaigns and other methods of increasing outreach and engagement.
